COVID-19 Protocols

Oral health is the gateway to overall health, and your good health is always our top priority. As you may imagine, things are a bit different at our dental office since the COVID-19 pandemic started. Read below for more information.

To Our Patient Family

Oral health is the gateway to overall health, and your good health is always our top priority. As you may imagine, things are a bit different at our dental office since the COVID-19 pandemic started. Every question you may have had about health and safety during this time, our dental health team has had as well.

As your dental health care providers, we have researched and consulted the many scientific resources we have access to as doctors to address these concerns. To keep you safe and smiling, our practice is adhering to the Center for Disease Control, and the American Dental Association’s guidance for safety providing dental care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before your appointment, we will contact you to check on your current health status. When you arrive, please call (734) 930-4022 and wait in the hallway area until we allow you into the office. The number of people allowed in the waiting room with you will be limited.

The office has been fully sterilized using a system called Level 4 Defense, which is used around the country by hospitals and other health care facilities. We have incorporated medical-grade air purifiers throughout the office, and utilize UV light sterilizers for further disinfection. Our clinical staff wears full PPE including surgical gowns and shields. We ask our patients to use hand sanitizers upon entering the office, and also use a pre-operative peroxide rinse which has been shown to inactivate COVID-19.

All of this is done with your health foremost in our minds. You can rest assured that we are taking every precaution to ensure that our office is optimized for your maximum safety.

Thank you for trusting us with your oral health, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

At Progressive Dental, we are dedicated to the safety of our patients and staff. We have taken certain infection control measures to make your visit to our office as safe as possible.

We strictly follow the guidelines provided by the ADA, CDC, and OSHA as part of the infection control procedures. We stay up-to-date on any new guidance provided by these agencies.

Have a look at the changes we implemented in our office to help protect our patients and staff:

Pre-Screening Of Every Patient

Before making an appointment, we will pre-screen patients and also ask them to complete an updated health screening form to ensure everyone’s safety.

When you arrive

Please give us a call when you arrive and remain in your vehicle. We keep social distancing and stay on top of ADA requirements. You will have to wait till your appointment time. We will call/text you as soon as we ensure it’s safe for you to come in. We permit only the patient to enter and let the guardian in if needed.

Temperature Check and Mask

We will assess your temperature, and you have a temperature at or above 100.4° F, we will reschedule your appointment. Make sure to wear a cloth mask whenever you arrive at the dental office.

Disinfection and Sterilization of Instruments

This is something we do ever since we started our practice. In each operatory, after every patient, we thoroughly wipe, sanitize, and disinfect all instruments, equipment, and surfaces to make everything super clean.

Air Purifiers and Aerosol Reduction

We have equipped our office with air purifiers that can kill bacteria, mold, and viruses and keep the air clean. We have also utilized special equipment to limit aerosols.

PPE and Staff

We have reinforced our staff and doctor PPE barriers. We will also keep in check the temperature of our staff members twice a day and monitor for any symptoms.

Pre-Procedural Precaution

Before making you sit on the dental chair, you will have to sanitize your hands and use an oral pre-rinse for about 30 seconds.

Insurance & Billing

We participate with Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, University of Michigan Dental, Aetna, MetLife and we will submit to most other insurance companies. Call today and we would be happy to answer any of your insurance eligibility questions for your specific plan.
